We have never been to River Oaks Theatre before, how does it work?

We are the city's premier movie theater. We are a dinner theater with comfortable seats, each with a personal table. We have to-your-seat food and beverage service throughout the feature for all film screenings. Select live events will cut off food and beverage service at the start of the event. We have excellent sound equipment and technical equipment.

How much are tickets?

Our regular admission prices are:

  • General admission tickets: $14.00.
  • Child (10 and under): $11.00
  • Senior (65+): $11.00
  • College Students, Military, Police, EMS & Firefighter, Hospital Medical Staff, Teachers (ID required): $11.00
  • Matinee (shows before 5:00pm): $11.00

Prices for Special Events and Live Shows will vary.

Can I purchase tickets in advance?

Yes! Advance ticketing is available online or at the box office. We do not accept phone orders or reservations for tickets. Anyone purchasing a student, senior or military discount must present proper identification at the box office. Passes can only be redeemed at the box office and cannot be used to reserve tickets online or over the phone.

What movies are coming and when?

We show the best arthouse and independent films from around the world. In addition, we screen classic films and live events, including music, comedy and more. What is on the menu?

GOOD FOOD and LOTS OF IT! We have big portions of appetizers, great sandwiches, the best popcorn in town and a full beverage selection including beer, wine and cocktails and a specialty drink menu.

Can I carry food or drink into the movie with me?

Only if you buy it from us. No outside food or beverages are permitted.

Do you accept credit cards and checks?

Yes, we accept most major credit cards. No, we do not accept checks.

Do you take reservations?

We absolutely do! Tickets can be reserved online and at our box office, and we always recommend reseving in advance to get the best seats. The earlier you arrive the sooner we can get your order in, and remember, the lobby bar is always open before the show.

Can someone under 21 years of age enter if they do not order alcohol?

Guests under the age of two are only permitted to Kids Camp screenings. Guests must be at least two years of age to attend features rated PG or lower. Guests must be at least three years of age to attend features rated PG-13 or higher. Children must not be disruptive to our other guests. Please be courteous to your fellow movie goers. Patrons involved in excessive conversation, loud or disruptive behavior will be removed from the premises without refund. The use of cell phones (including text messaging), cameras and recorders is strictly prohibited. You must be at least 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages. Proof of age is required by law.

Where are you located?

River Oaks Theatre is located at 2009 W Gray St, Houston, TX 77019 - across the street from the River Oaks Shopping Center anchored by Barnes and Noble. Free parking is available in the garage next to Barnes and Noble. Paid spots are available in the shopping center on both sides of the theater and in front of the theater.

Where do I park?

Guests can park free across the street in the parking garage behind Barnes & Noble. In addition, paid parking is available on either side of the theater.

How many theaters do you have?

We have three auditoriums at the River Oaks Theatre, and one Screening Lounge which we use for special screenings and private rentals.

How do I get a ticket Refund

No refunds will be provided after the performance time and date specified on the tickets.

If you are unable to attend your show time, we can swap the tickets for a different show time at the box office, or refund the tickets online. To request a refund, please fill out your information here. Ticket refunds and swaps can only be done up to 1 hour before the original showtime. Online service charges are non-refundable.
